A BRIEF WORD ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY
The city of Lompoc is nestled between quiet, rolling hills and the beautiful Pacific coast of California. Lompoc was originally settled by the Chumash Indians. La Purisma Mission was founded in December, 1787 and the city was later incorporated in 1888. The Valley offers a quality of life that is among the finest in the country. We have a small town atmosphere, rich cultural history, lovely rural surroundings and fresh ocean breezes. Lompoc is a quiet and unassuming jewel on the central coast of California.
A few of our local attractions are: unspoiled beaches, the historic La Purisima Mission, sprawling flower fields and more than forty professionally painted murals in our downtown area.
The Valley produces a wide variety of crops and is a prime flower seed and cut flower producing region. If you visit us in June, you can tour our beautiful flower fields and enjoy our annual Flower Festival. Life in the Valley of the Flowers is friendly, community-oriented and slow-paced.
